 Cedar Craft and More was founded in 2021 by Peter and Nancy Johnson while browsing for cedar planters. They could not find any that were reasonably priced with good quality. Peter and Nancy knew they had to do something to let the community have access to adorable, great quality planters and furniture in their small town of Lakewood in the city of Mountain, WI.

Peter Johnson has a history of carpentry, so he took initiative to take his woodworking experience to a new level! Peter created his first cedar planter with the help of his wife Nancy in no time! Since they were first starting out and weren't on the map yet, they noticed their local tavern was raising money for “Kids for Christmas”.  They knew they had to donate for the cause. While on display for the “Kids for Christmas” attendings were in awe. They wanted one of their own knowing it was locally hand made by their neighbors in town.  Peter and Nancy were overjoyed with the amount of support and attendings wanting one of their own!

From that day forward Peter and Nancy got busy in their garage (later turned into their workshop) making cedar planters. From the outreach of the community, they decided to make a Facebook Marketplace ad to expand their new and rapidly growing business. Just as when they donated their very first planter,  the outreach was overwhelming! They broadened their horizons from the cedar planters and started to make outdoor furniture... chairs, benches, and more. Before they knew it, they were delivering planters across the northern half of Wisconsin and the surrounding states.
